So when Davies Kelly were engaged by a UAE based main-contractor to assist with preparing and advancing claims for an extension of time and the recovery of additional costs, we needed to find a new strategy.
We developed a consolidated claim from first principles and managed the process to submission and through to the engineer’s determination.
In doing so we cost effectively managed the commission by identifying the issues that had the greatest impact and by applying a cost benefit analysis.
We also advised our client that there was no point paying us significant fees as the chances of getting extra returns were minimal.
As a result, our client was awarded a year’s extension of time and ten million dollars.
Whilst we forfeited further fees we saved our client significant costs and we’ll never wear a mask.
